Proposal Guidelines
The IMAGINE project is developing next generation imaging services for biology across scales. IMAGINE is providing technologies to probe structure and function of biological specimens in their natural context and support their adoption across Research Infrastructures (RIs) such as EMBRC, EuroBioImaging and Instruct-ERIC. To support implementation and uptake of these innovations, independent external validation is essential. This pilot call provides funded access for external research teams to test access and evaluate some of these IMAGINE-developed technologies through real research questions.
Aim of the Call
This pilot access call will provide funded access to support external validation projects that use new Imagine technologies to address a defined imaging research question. Results and feedback from selected projects will contribute to improving and optimising the developed workflows prior to broader deployment. The Imagine project will support a minimum of two funded pilot access projects through this call.

Funding Available
The use of the new IMAGINE service requested through this call will be free of charge for the user. A contribution of up to €500 is reserved for the user to support their travel, accommodation of shipping expenses for remote access
Call Submission Guidelines
Eligibility
The call is open to external research teams wishing to test IMAGINE-developed technologies to address a research question requiring the use of Imaging techniques across scale. Projects should be aligned with IMAGINE and be feasible within the pilot access framework. All applicants need to be ready to start with their access visit immediately (eg: sample ready). All projects will need to be finalised by the end of 2027.

- Scientific excellence and innovation
- Feasibility and sample readiness
- Relevance to IMAGINE
- Potential impact and contribution to workflow development
Expected Feedback
Selected user teams will be expected to provide structured feedback on service/workflow performance, any validation data/results generated during access and a short final summary report (template provided).
